Step 1 – Cook Pasta
Bring large pot of salted water to boil. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining. Set pasta aside.
Step 2 – Cook Chicken
Season chicken cubes with salt and pepper. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in single layer. Cook 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and cooked through (165°F). Remove chicken to plate.
Step 3 – Make Sauce
Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil to same skillet. Add minced garlic, cook 1 minute until fragrant. Add lemon juice, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes. Stir in heavy cream. Simmer 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 4 – Combine
Return chicken to skillet. Add cooked pasta. Toss to coat in sauce. Add pasta water gradually if too dry. Stir in fresh basil and parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
