Why This Glaze Works
- Natural Sweetness: Maple syrup caramelizes at high heat, creating a “crust” that locks in the salmon’s moisture.
- High Protein: A filling, nutritious meal that provides essential Omega-3 fatty acids.
- Zero Cleanup: Use a parchment-lined baking sheet to make cleanup a breeze!
What You’ll Need
- 1 lb Salmon Fillet (large or individual)
- 1/4 cup Pure Maple Syrup
- 2 tbsp Your Favorite BBQ Sauce
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce (or Tamari)
- 1 clove Garlic (minced)
- 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
- Fresh Parsley or Chives (for garnish)
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Whisk the Glaze: In a small bowl, combine maple syrup, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, and smoked paprika.
- Coat: Place the salmon on the baking sheet. Brush about half of the glaze generously over the top of the fish.
- Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets. The salmon should be opaque and flake easily with a fork.
- Caramelize: For the last 2 minutes, you can turn on the broiler and brush the remaining glaze over the top to get a sticky, charred finish.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh herbs and serve alongside roasted asparagus or over a bed of quinoa.
Chef’s Tip: Always look for “Pure Maple Syrup” (Grade A or B). The imitation pancake syrups contain too much corn syrup and won’t caramelize correctly!
